Students of the Footwear Design programme visited the production plant of Baťa, a.s. in Dolní Němčí on October 14, 2025, gaining first-hand insight into contemporary footwear manufacturing processes and industrial standards. The excursion enabled students to observe how theoretical knowledge is applied in real production environments and how technological precision, organization, and quality control shape the final product.
Particular attention was paid to material selection, efficiency in production, and responsible resource management. Students were introduced to practical approaches that contribute to waste reduction, optimized material use, and sustainable manufacturing practices within the footwear sector.
The visit also forms part of the broader educational modernization linked to the IDEA project, which aims to integrate sustainability, new technologies, and ecodesign principles into vocational footwear education. Direct exposure to industry practice strengthens the relevance of the curriculum and supports the project’s objective of aligning vocational training with current European standards and real market needs.
