Project IDEA has just started!

The IDEA project was officially launched on October 1, 2025. Over the next 24 months, three partners from two EU countries will work together to develop a modern, practice-oriented curriculum for vocational shoemaking education at the secondary school level. The project responds to the growing need for skilled professionals in the footwear sector and aims to bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and current industry demands.
A kick-off meeting bringing together all project partners took place on October 13, 2025. The meeting clarified the implementation of the first key activities, including the preparation of study materials focused on sustainable sources, new technologies, and ecodesign for both VET students and teachers in the footwear field. In addition, partners agreed on the project management and risk management framework and established the foundations for dissemination activities to ensure that project results will reach relevant stakeholders across the sector.
By combining international expertise and close cooperation with industry representatives, the partnership seeks to create tangible, high-quality outputs that will modernize vocational footwear education and strengthen its alignment with current European sustainability standards.
