Students’ Visit to Flow State Exhibition in Brno
On February 20, 2026, students from SUPSUH visited the Flow State exhibition by designer Jan Černý at the Uměleckoprůmyslové museum, part of Moravská galerie v Brně. The exhibition presents a wide range of Černý’s work, characterized by bold silhouettes, innovative detailing, and a mix of traditional tailoring with streetwear and functional design. For footwear design students, the exhibition provided inspiration in several key areas: the integration of artistic concepts into practical design, the creative use of materials, attention to detail, and the connection between aesthetics, functionality, and innovation.
Special focus on collaborations with industrial manufacturers, including work on functional and work footwear, highlighted the relevance of combining creativity with real-world production constraints. The visit offered students an opportunity to expand their understanding of contemporary design thinking and its practical applications. Experiencing how concepts, material experimentation, and design storytelling come together in a professional context supports their own creative development and aligns with the IDEA project’s goals of integrating new technologies, ecodesign, and sustainability principles into vocational footwear education.
